Award-winning Nigerian comedian and skit maker fondly known as Sabinus, who's real name is Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, has reportedly filed a N1 billion (one billion naira) lawsuit against the beverage company Friesland Meals Wamco Nigeria Plc for the alleged unauthorized use of his trademark slogan 'Something hooge'.


In another development, he is said to have slammed a lawsuit filed against UAC Meals for N100 million.

In a pre-suit discover dated May 27, 2022, and signed by his lead counsel Mr Stanley Alieke, the content material creator sought N500m for the alleged unauthorized use of his mental property, as well as another N500m for damages for the "emotional, bodily, psychological, and psychological trauma our consumer has suffered as a result of trademark theft and the infringement of his mental rights property."

"It may interest you to know that the phrase 'Something hooge,' popularized by our consumer, has been trademarked and legally reserved as his intellectual property by the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Funding."


"The stated slogan was trademarked on November 26, 2021, with the file number: NG/TM/O/2021/48316." "And another 5 hundred million Naira (N500M) for damages; emotional, bodily, psychological, and psychological trauma our consumer has suffered for the Trademark theft and infringement of his mental property rights," we state in this notice.


In another development, the comic demanded N100 million from UAC Meals for using his animated image in an advertisement for the Gala sausage roll.


"Your company UAC Meals Ltd. has been utilizing the model image and different mental properties of Sabinus to make advertisements on your Gala sausage roll with out the consent or authorization of our purchasers," one other discover learns.

"On the 23rd of May, 2022, you published an image of our customer in your verified Instagram handle (gala sausage roll)." The publication, which featured a cartoon of our customer, was titled "the way I calculate everything in my life.
