Dear Reader...
While on vacation in Ibiza, a German footballer was detained on suspicion of raping a Spanish woman.
According to Mail Online, after being questioned by police, VfB Stuttgart defensive midfielder Atakan Karazor, 25, and a second man appeared before a judge in Ibiza Town in a closed court hearing. The 25-year-old athlete has categorically denied any misconduct.
The two guys have not yet been charged with any crime, according to the story, because formal charges in Spain are only filed soon before a trial. However, under Spanish law, they are now 'investigados,' which means they are being formally investigated as part of a criminal investigation into a suspected sex attack.
They were reportedly apprehended last Wednesday, June 8, after the accused victim reported them to the authorities.
After an alleged incident, the kid who went to the police wound up at Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza.
"VfB midfielder Atakan Karazor was arrested while on holiday in Ibiza," Stuttgart said in a statement. He denies any wrongdoing.
"VfB keeps in touch with its legal team on a regular basis.
"Because this is a continuing process, we beg for your patience as VfB is unable to speak further at this time."
"Two German nationals have been arrested after a woman told police she was sexually abused in Ibiza," a Civil Guard official added.
"An investigation is now ongoing."
"One of the two males is a player who plays in the Bundesliga," a reliable source revealed.
His club confirmed the midfielder's detention and stated that they were in "continuous touch" with their legal team.
This comes only weeks after the Bundesliga star announced on social media that his contract with Stuttgart has been extended for another three years, until 2026.
'A big thank you to all fans, your support gives me a lot of strength,' he wrote on Instagram.
'I feel right at home at VFB, and I'm looking forward to taking on new challenges.' 'Here's to many more wonderful moments together in the years ahead!'
