On June 13, the Anambra state police command discovered a hotel called Gally Gally in Nkpor where youngsters aged 14 to 17 are allegedly used for sex slavery, prostitution, and a baby factory.
According to a statement made by DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the state police command's spokesperson, the operatives rescued 35 girls, four of whom are pregnant. According to him, the police arrested three people: Mrs Ifeoma Uzo, 35 years old, Chidiebere Alaka, 28 years old, and Nweke Chidiebere.
''We recovered three pump action gun, seven cartridges and cash sum of Eight hundred and seventy seven thousand, five hundred naira (#877,500).
The Suspects arrested are being interrogated with a view to eliciting information on their involvement and unmasking other gang members.'' the statement in part read
The police will hand over the victims to NAPTIP for their welfare and rehabilitation, according to Tochukwu.
He stated that at the conclusion of the investigation, all suspects will be charged in court.
