Two proposals for the Senegalese attacker have been rejected by the German champions, with Liverpool insisting on the right price.

Fabrizio Romano, a respected football journalist, stated on Twitter that Liverpool are aware of his wish to join Bayern, and that the deal has reached the 'final stages' and is now'really close.'

Bayern Munich are hoping to sign him for a bargain price, but Jurgen Klopp's side are adamant that he will not be sold for a low price, having put a £42 million price tag on his head.

Bayern Munich is reportedly hoping for a third time lucky with a £34.6 million proposal, according to German magazine Bild. Bayern hopes that their current offer, despite coming £7.4 million short of Liverpool's valuation, will persuade the Reds to sell.

The Bavarian club would pay £30.3 million up front, with £4.3 million in add-ons.
